Tokyo Olympics is the best chance that Japanese sports bland increase its share in the world by making outstanding sportswear and appealing its prominent skills.

~Explain about our project~

When we talked about this topic, we thought the Tokyo Olympic 2020 becomes good opportunity to expand Japanese products, culture and spirits. Japanese companies are particular about the details of products and Japanese designers have original Japanese feelings. Then we thought Japanese sports companies can create more functional and comfortable products and Japanese designers can take some Japanese traditional design into Japanese products. In addition, nowadays, when we play some sports, we wear sports clothes and when we are in daily life, we wear general clothes. So we thought it will be epoch-making to create some clothes which we can use in sports and daily life. Those are the origins of our projects.

Then we thought about how to expand Japanese products and culture in Tokyo Olympic and we get a conclusion. First, we meet the Japanese company’s technology and Japanese traditional design. To say concrete, we invent sports clothes which have precision details. Moreover, our sports clothes have special texture which we can use in sports and daily life. In addition, we cooperate with Japanese fashion designer and take in Japanese traditional design in modern sports clothes. We want to fuse traditional Japanese culture and modern Japanese culture and take those cultures into sports clothes by thinking about the arrangement of colors, the shape and so on. However, when we invent new type sports clothes, we don’t forget not only design but also functionality. When people play some sports, all people eliminate sweat and in many sports, there are lot of actions like jumping, throwing a balls, running and so on. To make those actions easier and keep our skin comfortable, we should use more elastic and evaporative texture. Likewise, it is important to make our products in Japan because ‘’Made in Japan’’ will be an important element to promote our products to all over the world. It is difficult to take all of those factors into one product but if there are Japanese technology and spirit, it is sure to realize it.

After we invent products, we should promote our products. To be known our products, we should make contract with professional athletes and Japan Olympic Association (JOC) then we supply our clothes to professional players and volunteers who supports the managements of Tokyo Olympic. In addition to this, before the Tokyo Olympic is held, we make advertisement. We should strongly promote about Japanese product’s functionality, detail, the fusion of traditional Japanese culture and modern sports clothes and ‘’Made in Japan’’ in our advertisement. To do those promotions and advertisements, we can spread the greatness of Japanese products and Japanese craftsmanship to all over the world.

My thoughts on Ariana Miyamoto

  Ariana Miyamoto is a winner of Miss Universe Japan. She is twenty one years old, she is from Nagasaki prefecture, and surprisingly, she is mixed. She has a Japanese mother and an African American father. In modern Japanese society, it is not remarkable to be mixed of some ethnic. However, she is a representative of Miss Universe Japan. So it is very controversial.

My opinion about this is critical. I think she is not appropriate for a representative of Miss Universe Japan. She does not　look like Japanese. It should be a pure Japanese at least as a representative of Miss Universe Japan. (I know, of course, that a winner is selected not only by appearance but also by behavior and ability which are suitable for a “Japanese” beautiful woman. However, as far as I looked over, I cannot say she is totally suitable for a representative of Miss Universe Japan even from the point of such element. )

   However, do not misunderstand. I am saying just she is inappropriate for “a representative of Miss Universe Japan”. I am not saying she is not beautiful or she is not Japanese. In fact, I really think she is a very beautiful and cool woman. The blackish skin, muscularity body, chiseled face, glamorous lip…, they are her wonderful individualities regardless of the race.

  Nowadays, an international marriage is becoming common and we can find mixed people easily. There are also various mixed friends around me. What I feel as far as I have communicated with them until now is that the factor which determines one’s character and the way of thinking is not blood but the environment in which he or she has been growing up. Japaneseness does not arise from the race.

  You may say it contradicts what I said in the first part. It is because when it comes to appearance, the situation is different. You know many people get impression from a look. So in the miss international contest in which women from various ethnics compete, Japaneseness of appearance is thought important. For this reason, I think she is not appropriate for a representative of Miss International Japan.

 

World news

 The news I chose was about the U.S. deployment of special operations forces to Syria. But I could not understand the whole news because of my poor English comprehension skill and background knowledge. So, summing up the content of this news simply as far as I could understand, it is like following.

  The United States is going to send forces to Syria to support revels against Islamic State. U.S. officials are insisting that American forces are not going to fight at the forefront, so they would not be exposed to danger. However, everyone knows that there is no saying there would be no danger and some person says that this scheme would not succeed and not make situation in Middle East better as long as there is no consistent and firm plan.

  Though it is not related to this news itself, I thought when I read some article in English, not only English reading skills but also background knowledge is very necessary. Language is different from country to country or from nation to nation, however, knowledge is common all over the world.

 

  I had a question that why the United States was always involved in almost all major war. I knew that the U.S was said like the police of the world, but I did not know why. So I searched about this.

  In the first time of American history, it had taken a policy not to interfere with other countries. However, thorough the First World War and the Second World War, the U.K. defeated and there was no country other than the U.S. which could lead world politics. And many European countries were thinking the U.S. could prevent communism to spread and wanted the U.S. to have relations with them. In this way, the U.S. was becoming to have big power in the world. It is kind of duty of the U.S. to interfere with many issues.

  However, recently president Obama said the U.S. was not any more the police of the world. It means America will give up world issues. If it will be really so, the balance of the world would collapse.

 Anyway, I want to and have to be able to have more deep thought and opinion about world news. So I should be more careful about what is occurring in the world. I will use time to check news instead of twitter, instagram or other SNS.

What do you do to keep things whole?

       ■not broken or damaged

 

 I define that keeping things whole means there are no lack and no defect.

What I can come up with now and I want to keep whole are friendship and love (in other words, not to make quarrel and to be in good relations with my friends and boyfriend). Although, it is the best if you can maintain these things without special efforts, in many cases, you would have to strive to keep them.

 What I do for keeping good friendship and love is replying LINE massages with politeness. These days, we can exchange massages very easily, so we tend to be unkind each other. So I keep it in mind to reread words before sending.

The other thing is conveying my thanks in any situations. Saying “Thank you” makes not only others feel comfortable but also you find importance of their acts and themselves again. So, even when I forget to say thanks that time, I always convey my gratitude for them later.

 I do not think keeping something is always best, but sometimes it is very important and it is difficult to do so. I want to cherish both changing and unchanging.

What do I desire?

  What do I desire? Now I am just facing this question. I do not know what I really want to do now and in the future. I am worried seriously.

  When I entered this university, I had many things I wanted to do and I was eager to do all of that. Then, I had actually done or started some of these.

  I will pick up one thing of these.

 I joined a student group which supports a foreign country such as Cambodia and contribute to community around us. At first, I was really fascinated by its idea, but as I had involved some event as a member, I came to feel uncomfortable while I was in its meeting and to have a question that “Is this really what I want to do?” Though I thought seriously, this feeling stuck in my mind, so I eventually quit the group.

  I have some fields that I can be interested in, but I do not know concretely what I should do or I want to do.

  However, there is a word that always helps me when I am distressed. My senior of the university said this word, and it is staying in my mind. This word is

  “You can do everything that you want to do. And if you come not to want to do that, it is OK to quit that.”

 It may not mean that you do not have to be responsible for what you are doing. It may mean that you should choose what is really important for you among many things you tried. I think it is only when I am a student that I can challenge everything that I come up with. When I am a member of society, there will be more responsibilities and other obstacles, and so I will be unable to start and stop easily. So, I have just decided to act to follow the word above. I will try everything that I get interest in as possible as I can, and I want to expand my view!

Music in my life

 I do not love music and I am not familiar to music especially, but it plays some important parts in my life.

  Firstly, the piano. I had learned it for about 11 years, from 7 years old to 18 years old. Honestly speaking, I did not like to play the piano so much. So I practiced the piano not because I want to do, but because I have to do. However, thanks to my teacher, I could continue playing the piano. I went to the same private piano lesson for 11 years and I have known her for a long time. She was so kind and mild. She did never scold me for not being able to performance well. She often said to me “It is ok to practice here, you do not have to practice in your home” and did not force me to practice for the lesson. So, though I was not good at playing the piano at all, I did not come to hate it. I really appreciate her. I have not seen her after I quit the piano lesson, so when I go back to my hometown, I want to go to meet her.

 

  Next, I have my favorite rock band called Mr. Children. They have 4 members and its vocal, Kazutoshi Sakurai, is so cool!! His voice raptures a lot of fans and lyrics he makes are marvelous. I think a large number of people are helped by their music at some points in their life, and I am one of them. My mother also love them, and she and I go to their live every time. In a sense, I could say that they make a tie between us deep. Next month, they will held the live and I was applied for its ticket. I am really looking forward to it. I hope I win and go that live!

 

  It is a matter almost all the people know that music is related to our feeling. When you are happy, you listen to merry songs. When you are sad, you select calm songs. And, when you fell in love with someone, you want to listen to love songs. Opposite is the same. When you are depressed, cheerful songs can make your feeling better. Like this, music has magical power and it really influences our life even if you are not aware of that.

My opinion about police

  Watching this video, I feel that American police are cruel. In this video, although I do not know what they did, American police seemed to put handcuff on people easily. And they were violent. A man who was taken by some polices looked to be assaulted by them. They were also severe toward a woman. I watched that a woman and a police are quarreling and the police held down the resisting woman and also put handcuff on her. I was surprised.

  In Japan, police are the symbol of justice. Almost all of us, Japanese, think that police secure us from criminals and various accidents. But on the contrary, in America, people seem to be afraid of police. It looks like that police are the symbol of power and fear, not justice.

  When there are too many people in the community, conflict occurs. The teacher also said the host of the pool party gathered too many people and the party became too big. But I think it is natural. I think the police are set up for that. So police should be fair and justice for all members of the community not like this video.

Japanese police

  Although I write same thing previously, I think Japanese police are the symbol of justice. I trust police.

  My mother likes TV programs featured the police, so I would often watch such a program with my mother. The police in the program are so cool for me. Sometimes, they discriminate and crack down on drug users, and sometimes they chase speeding car. I also loved the drama about special police. The police in this drama were sent to more dangerous scenes such as blast and crime with hostage. In both the program and the drama, they always struggle against crimes with all of his knowledge and experiences. Watching them, I thought always that police are strong and secure us anytime.

  Some people say police cannot be trusted when they watch some news about police scandal. But police who have to do with such a news are a small part of the whole police. I am angry at them. Although almost all the police are striving for us every day, trust in the police goes down due to these scandal which are made by a part of the police.

 Anyway I trust Japanese strong and faithful police.

 

My memory of Great East Japan earthquake

  When Great East Japan earthquake hit in Japan, I was in Shizuoka and having an English class in junior high school. The first quake was slight and other students said nothing, so I thought just I was dizzy. But the second quake was slightly bigger than the first one and it was rolling. This time, everyone seemed to feel the quake and the classroom started buzzing. Then, our teacher turned on the TV and news about the earthquake was broadcasted. After that, we resumed the class as usual.
  
  After school, I did not have a tennis club activity, but I had something to say to my tennis coach, so I went to his house by my mother’s car. In the car, we were watching the TV and it still broadcasted the news about the daytime earthquake. At this time I though nothing especially. In Japan, earthquake is common and it is not rare. So, I just thought an earthquake hit again as usual.

 Then, we come home and we were going to watch the TV while eating dinner. But, whichever channels we chosen, there was no program except for news about the earthquake. Day after day, the situation was same. At this time, I just realized that this earthquake was so serious.

 In these days, I often watched images of tsunami. I did not know fear of it before Great East Japan earthquake hit in Japan. So, I was surprised to know destruction power of tsunami and felt awful.

 Saying honestly, I could not really understand how much victims of Great East Japan earthquake had difficulties at that time or just now because I did not directly experience the quake. But through Great East Japan earthquake I see a lot of kindness and consideration from all over the world. People in various countries sent relief and warm messages to Japan. I thought we must not forget not only the earthquake itself but also everything that people　in the world did for us.

 Recently, in Nepal, a big earthquake occurred. Now Nepal needs help from us like Japan in those days of Great East Japan earthquake. Japan should know what we have to do now. I think Japan ought to lead the world to help Nepal people. Of course, it is same for me. It takes a long time to go back to life before the earthquake. So I will continue to do what I can do for Nepal.

If I were the opposite sex...

I have some things that I want to do if I were a man.

1.  Play soccer

As soon as I entered the elementary school, I was going to join a soccer team in which my brother was playing. But there were few girls in the team, so I gave up playing soccer. Now I am regret that. If I were a boy, I would have taken part in the soccer team without hesitation.

 2. Eat more

I love eating, but, probably, women are more likely to gain weight than men. So I always endure eating until I am satisfied. Besides, I am concerned about people’s eyes. It maybe my prejudice, but women who eat a lot do not look elegant and men like that do not. If I were a man, I could eat as much as I want without worry!!

3. Wake up 10 minutes before a class starts

Women have to make up and set their hair before leave home and men have not to do so. If I were a man, I would sleep as long as I can!!

Although I picked up a few things I would like to do if I were a man, I do not want to be a man. I think there are many points of view about difference between men and woman. Men tend to be given better treatment than women. But, I think women have more options than men in some points. For example, women can wear both skirts and trousers, have both long hair and short one and change their mood or feeling by making up. If men do like that, it seems strange. I love wearing various clothes, wearing high heel shoes and making up. So, I am happy to be a woman!

  He is always hurrying. He must be punctual anytime, and he is always pushed for time.
 
  Although he goes back home every night, he has to wake up on time every morning and goes his work again.
He cannot  stop working and does not have time to take a rest.
 
  He has an important task to take them to their home, their office or their loved one. It is only delight for him.
 
  However, where is a person who loves him?
Where is a person who gives him time of peace?

  He continues to work until he is not needed.
 

Impression of Wanderers

  As I could not understand narration, I will write impression of watching images.

  First of all, images of all scenes were so beautiful that I cannot believe that there is such place behind the sky. Again, I thought the universe is magnificent and mysterious.
  I think the reason why we feel the universe is so beautiful is that there is no human's force. We are impressed by space as well as when we see nature(there is no human's force).
  However, if we, mankind, invade space and develop it, will we become not to feel space is beautiful?

  I do not think space exploitation is useless. It gives us dreams that we might be able to live in Mars or travel in space easily some day. It is wonderful if we will be able to see beautiful sights of the universe with our own eyes.
  But I do not agree with the idea that utilize resources of other planets and change its environment. I have heard the word "terraforming". Terraforming is to change environment in a certain planet and convert it for human beings to be able to live. It also means approximating  a certain planet to the earth. This  is still just an idea, but if it is realized, some issues will arise. For example, some countries would become too absorbed in developing other planet and make a light of poor countries in our planet. And even if we would make a success, it might mean for that planet to follow the same road as the earth(global warming, deforestation, water shortage...).
   So, I think space development is wonderful, but we should make a point of improving lives of poor people and solving environmental issues in our planet.
Watching this short movie, I was made to think about what is important for us now.

  By the way, when I watch photos and video of the universe, I always feel anxious. I feel like there is nobody except me and there is nothing that I can depend on. I feel like I am so tiny and I cannot breathe. (It does not mean that there is no air in space. )
  However, I now realized that it can be thought as follows.
  No matter what I do, there is no person who cares about me, so I need not worry about what I am thinking to try. It means that I can do anything because I am so tiny in this universe.

Food of Japan

 

I'll introduce kurohampen as food of japan.

What is kurohampen

Kurohampen is a kind of Hampen.Although common Hampen(Shirohampen) is white,square and soft,Kurohampen is black,semilunar,and hard.Tastes and raw materials are also quite different.Shirohampen is made of ground whitefish,the white of an egg and yam,but Kurohampen is made of whole mackerel or sardine(includes bone).

I'm from Shizuoka and it's famous for kurohampen.It may be sold in only Shizuoka.
And in Shizuoka,kurohampen is served in kyushoku which is lunch offered by a elementary school and a junior high school.

How to manufacture kurohampen

 

Grind fish,starch,solt and other spice→Shape and biol for a few minutes→Cool down

 

You don't make kurohampen by yourself.You normally buy it at a supermarket or a specialty store.

 
 

How to eat kurohampen

 

There are many ways to eat kurohampen.
 

1. Law

You can eat kurohampen raw with soy sauce and wasabi,soy sauce and mayonnaise or yuzukosho(citrus flavor pepper).

2. Grill

When grilled,kurohampen swells.Eat with soy sauce and wasabi,soy sauce and ginger or soy sauce and butter.It matches alcohol!!(But I don't drink because I am still 19 years old...)

3. Fry
Personally,I think fried kurohampen is the most delicious food of Shizuoka.
I love it!!It is so good without sauce.You should eat when you visit Shizuoka.

4. Oden(Shizuoka oden)
Oden is Japanese common food.Various food such as potato,Japanese radish,konnyaku,egg and deep-fried ball of fish paste are stewed in oden. In Shizuoka,oden is a little different from common oden in that its soup is blackish and its ingredients include kurohampen,and it called Shizuoka oden.

I went back to Shizuoka and my friends I got acquainted with in Univercity of Tsukuba came my home in this Golden Week,a succession of holidays from the end of Aplil to the beginning of May.My mother made fried kurohampen and served it to them.They all said it was delicious.I want to cook fried kurohampen for other my friends,but It's a shame that I cannot have kurohampen delivered from Shizuoka to Tsukuba because it is likely to become rotten on the way.So,I do want you to go to Shizuoka and eat kurohampen!!!!I am sure you will come to like kurohampen.





My 10 goals for this year

1. Improve my Engish skills
 I am not good at speaking,listening and writing.I want to be able to communicate with others fluently in English.

2. Start a part-time job
I want to work at a restaurant or a bar with makanai(board).I'm going to start a part-time job by July.

3. Be good at cooking
Since I entered the college,I've been making lunch box almost everyday,but I cannot cook well like my mother yet.I finally want to be able to cook without recipes.

4. Play tennis
I played soft-ball tennis when I was a junior high school student.But I've not  played  tennis for about 4 years.So,I'm going to join a tennis club,and looking forward to playing tennis again!!

5. Go to Osaka with my friend
We planed short trips a few times,but none of them was realized.So,this year I want to achieve our plan!

6. Go to see horse racing
I like to see horse and horse racing,but I have never been to a racecourse.I want to go in this year.

7. Challenge everything I want to do
I think it is only while you are a college student that you can challenge everything you want to do.So I will do various things!!

8. Do something can help children in developing countries
What I am thinking now is donating books.I'll start with small things.

9. Enjoy my college life
Everything is interesting and everyone is wonderful in Tsukuba university!!I'm sure I will be able to enjoy 4 years.
